Short nights & freezing weather make November a pretty bleak month for car fans in the UK, but cross the Pacific into the warped land of Las Vegas and it couldn’t be more different! SEMA is the ultimate show for petrolheads worldwide, taking over the Las Vegas Convention Centre every year attracting upwards of 60,000 visitors and thousands of incredible show cars.

Meguiar’s is hugely proud to be a part of SEMA, and one of the stand-out cars of the show just so happened to be on our stand. What you’re looking at is a 1962 Chevy Bubbletop built by Ironworks Speed & Custom, but as you’d expect it’s far from what you’d call standard…

It takes more than just bolt-on mods to make a car worthy for SEMA. Attention to detail, workmanship and bespoke fabrication are all essential, and something Cliff’s ’62 Bubbletop has in abundance. It blends concourse restoration with high-performance tuning, not least thanks to the twin-turbo LS V8 motor now nestled under the hood.

The whole car was taken back to a bare shell, removed of rust and painstakingly restored before fabricating key components including the suspension, engine mounts and turbo manifolds. In fact, with how immaculate the bodywork and paint has been finished to its almost a shame to hide the thousands of hours of work on the all-important underside!

It was a real pleasure to welcome the ’62 Bubbletop onto the Meguiar’s stand for SEMA and incredible to see a build of this standard.
