Of all the shows on the UK calendar right now it’s safe to say Player’s Classic requires the least introduction. Year after year this show continues to deliver, from the quality & quantity of cars on display right down to the scorching British weather! We’re not entirely sure how they manage that last bit, but we’re not complaining…

2018 was a big, big year for the Player’s team. Under pressure to keep growing this prestigious event (purely down to sheer volume of show car applications), JayMac and Carl made the decision to change the whole format from a one-day event to a full weekender, something they’ve never done before at any Player’s event.

The new format would see the show divided into two days: Saturday would follow the traditional Classic approach with track time throughout the day & show cars trackside. Sunday however would lose the track time altogether, and instead welcome hundreds of additional show cars to the Goodwood circuit instead.

Given how many shows flood the season each year, it was a brave move deciding to change a tried and tested format. But, that’s what makes Player’s different. They’re not afraid to switch things up, and safe to say the team smashed it this year. The fact show cars travel from as far as Russia to be a part gives you a rough idea just how awesome this event has become in five short years.
