What can we say about Player’s which hasn’t been covered a thousand times in the past? Yet again Jay, Carl and the rest of the Player’s crew absolutely smashed it. With clear, sunny skies and a venue full of Europe’s best show cars, it simply couldn’t have gone any better. As one-day shows go, you’ll struggle to beat this.

Since day one North Weald has been the venue of choice, and while it lacks and real ‘action’ (compared to Player’s Classic @ Goodwood) it makes up for it with sheer size and space allowing more cars and more variety. It’s by no means a cutting-edge venue, but sometimes it’s the simple ones which yield the best results.

The two hangers at Player’s have always been an attraction in their own right, not least because of how damn cool they look illuminated! These two areas are usually reserved for the absolute stand-out cars with the trade area & show and shine located outdoors. It’s a brilliant mix which breaks up the show and ensures you don’t miss any killer cars tucked away in the corner.

That being said, it’s always worth a walk around the general parking which almost always throws up some bonkers cars, not least a Cosworth-powered P100 pickup and a full Zombie Apocalypse 300ZX which were two of our favorites. Where else delivers this kind of variety in the general parking… let alone the show?!

With the days getting shorter and a dusting of frost appearing most mornings, Player’s inadvertently signals that the UK Show Season is coming to an end. We’ve still got a few stand-out events left to visit (not least the NEC Classic in November) but we couldn’t think of a better way to sign off a brilliant season than with Player’s 12.0!
