This weekend Meguiar’s hosted the annual Club Showcase event at the NEC Classic Motor Show. 16 show winning vehicles gathered on the Meguair’s stand to compete in a concours event to find the best of the best. Each car on display earned it’s place in the Showcase by winning the respective club concours competition.

This year’s competition was an incredibly difficult one to call, with the judges finally deciding on Adrian Evans’ stunning MK2 Cortina.

Mike Brewer was on hand to announce the winner and congratulated Adrian on the incredible Cortina.

With 4 of the last 5 years spent undertaking a full nut and bolt restoration, Adrian’s attention to detail wowed the judges. Every component in the restoration was either new old stock or remanufactured or restored to original specification or better.

Adrian covers around 1000 miles a year in the car, so is driven quite regularly. It’s certainly a petrol pump conversation starter and many people have very fond memories of this shape cortina.

“One of the best things about owning the car is that so many people relate to it. It brings back so many memories for so many people. After all it was in its day just a working man’s car. It is amazing really when you look back, as new it cost around £800-£900. Today this example is now valued at around £25,000-£30,000.” said Adrian.
