Each year at the NEC Classic Motorshow, Meguiar’s hold a Club Showcase event which brings together the crème de la crème of vehicles from 16 major marque specific events that the company supports throughout the year. A champion of champions among classic car restorers.

For the 2010 event Meguiar’s announced a stunning Ferrari 250 GT Lusso Berlinetta as overall Club Showcase Winner. The flawless 1963 Ferrari was selected as the ‘Best in Show’ by a panel of independent judges.

Finished in Marrone Metallizzato with a beige leather interior, the 1963 250 GT Berlinetta owned by David Moores had previously won the HR Owen Trophy for Car of the Day at the 2010 Ferrari Concours earlier in the year. It featured in the Showcase with 15 other sensational vehicles, each having already been awarded top honours at one of the marque specific shows through the year. Once again the judges were faced with a tough decision due to the exceptional quality of the vehicles taking part in the showcase, with ultimately only 9 points separating first and fifth place.

The car had been in David Moores possession since 2007 and was originally purchased by none other than Steve McQueen. Before leaving America the car underwent a lengthy 4 year restoration and remains in excellent condition.

Dominik Berry, Marketing Manager of Meguiar’s UK, commented: “The Classic Motor Show is our biggest event in the UK and is the perfect place to exhibit the Meguiar’s Club Showcase. This year’s event was a real spectacle and it was great to see so many people over the weekend enjoying everything that the classic car scene has to offer.”

Ferrari

The incredible Ferrari impressed so much that it went on to be included in Meguiar’s 2011 advertising strategy.

This year Meguiar’s return with yet another Club Showcase. Make sure you don’t miss it at this years NEC Classic Motorshow!
